An extensive renovation program commenced with the current owners taking over Highlander House in 2018:
- Complete top-to-bottom renovation of the kitchen to a standard that would be the pride of any chef
- New Worcester-Bosch boiler
- New Gledhill Torrent Thermal Store providing hot water throughout the house at mains pressure and eliminating the old gravity-fed system of hot water tanks in the attic space
- Upgraded radiators including a number of towel radiators in various bathrooms
- Upgrade of manual radiator controls to the sophisticated Honywell Evohome controls that are programmed via a central console and can be operated from anywhere in the world via the app
- hundreds of metres of Cat 6a wiring run under the floors to most rooms providing hard-wire connection to the central hub and main router
- CCTV monitoring of the living/common areas and front and rear exteriors
- Extensive upgrading of almost all flooring throughout the house to high-quality Golden Select flooring with AC5 (including Splash Shield protection) and AC4 durable and hard-wearing classification
- Hard-scaping of the rear garden to yield a low-maintenance, easy care sanctuary
